Eyelid Rejuvenation
Overview
The eyes are often thought of as the windows to the soul. Despite feeling young on the inside, many patients complain of a tired appearance due to excess skin, coarse wrinkles, and bulging fat of the lower eyelid along with excess skin and fat of the upper eyelid. The aging process can add years to your appearance often on a face that otherwise seems quite young. Cosmetic eyelid surgery, blepharoplasty, is one of the most common cosmetic procedures in the USA. It can be carried out on an outpatient basis, removing years of the aging process. Preparation for Blepharoplasty in Orlando, Florida
Procedure: cosmetic eyelid surgery is patient specific do actual procedure will depend on your problem to be corrected. For a patient with bulging fat, good lower eyelid skin tone, and very few wrinkles, a Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty is performed where one incision is made inside the lower eyelid and the protruding fat pads are gently removed. This leaves no scarring on the outside of the lower eyelid. For a patient with fine wrinkles, no excess skin, and bulging fat, a Transconjunctival Lower Lid Blepharoplasty is performed in combination with a resurfacing procedure to the lower eyelid (e.g. a chemical peel or laser resurfacing). This resurfacing procedure will take approximately 5 to 7 days to heal depending on the extent of the procedure. For a patient with excess lower eyelid skin, the skin is removed from the eyelid via an incision approximately 2 mm below the lash line. This is easily hidden on almost all skin types. Excess upper eyelid skin and fat is removed from a line that falls in the natural crease of the upper eyelid. Fat can also be removed through this incision. Excess upper eyelid skin sometimes requires that a brow lift be performed. The brow contributes to the amount of excess skin present on the upper eyelid as it descends. In many cases removing the upper eyelid skin alone does not produce a more awake look until the brow is raised. Risks of Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery, Blepharoplasty
